A full week of solitary confinement has been emotionally frazzling to say the least. No sane person would ever choose loneliness over community. You know I am a big Miller fan and I appreciate what he says. But to "dig into community" there has to be a community to dig into. As Miller says, "isolation is a bit of hell", but is it always the lonely one who chooses to dwell there? Does "the community" bear any responsibility to reach out?

John,
I confess it is kind of scary to click "listen" and know that what will follow is unscripted discussion of your random thoughts. I so heartily agree that we, the church, have spent far too long huddled around our communion tables of members-only fellowship. Taking our "church table" out to trivia into venues I'd not normally go has opened doors of communication to many who will never come to church on their own. Yet we are there to extend warm friendship in a welcoming environment. If I recall correctly, Jesus spent much time dining with those outside the church and very little inside its walls. What has been called "outreach ministry" traditionally consisted of handing out tracts and waiting for those on the outside to come to church. Going to them makes oh so much more sense. A radio station would also be a great way to "go to them" in their cars, homes, etc. Thanks for the podcast!

I purchase food prior to flying from GoPicnic. They produce ready to eat boxed meals that don’t require heating or preparation similar to the BOB meals on airlines but SO much better! I order my favorite, NaturalBreak: Hummus, Fruit, & Nuts, in bulk from costco.com, amazon.com or gopicnic.com and bring them everytime I fly. Healthier than terminal food, cheaper than buying onboard and it doesn’t go to waste! They have a great selection meals including vegetarian, gluten-free, kosher and kids meals...visit www.gopicnic.com for there HUGE selection. I highly recommend these delicious & healthy travel meals!

In 100% agreement, and thanks for writing that. I do believe that God hears and answers all prayers. It may not be what we want to hear or what we agree with at that time, but how can we comprehend God's big picture?

I admit I am guilty of sometimes not praying enough and sometimes waiting until a situation is entirely too dire to pray. But I try to pray every day and every day I am thankful for the joy I have been given as well.

John, I so appreciate the mission described for the new station. The American church is unfortunately a divided entity. As a society we are bent toward division rather than unity. Our challenge is to shed our sports team mentallity when it comes to the body of believers. When we see a vehicle on the road with a Christian ID our first thought should be that of a brother or sister not someone from the opposing team. We also tend to think of everyone within the confine of our four church walls as someone who has spiritually arrived. This isn't accurate! We need to think in terms of Sunday attenders as our immediate mission field. In short we need to buid the body from the inside out. When we begin to be connected to each other in unity, both inside the local church and jointly between the local congregations, the message of Christ will be unleashed with tremendous power. The deafening silence of the American church needs to come to an end. I am greatly encouraged that God is moving and beginning a new awakening of His Church. I see the establishment of WKNZ and this new mission as an excting part of God's plan for unifying the community of believers. Praise God, may He bless your efforts. Pastor Rodger
